9000 Years on Huguenot Street

March 27 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

FREE

The Wallkill Valley Rail Trail Association Annual Meeting features a special guest presentation by Dr. Joseph Diamond, SUNY Associate Professor of Anthropology, entitled:

“9000 Years on Huguenot Street”

When it comes to sustainability, we all have a lot to learn. Fortunately, some of that learning might just be right under our feet. This year, the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail Assocation celebrates our Native American heritage at Historic Huguenot Street.

Professor Joseph Diamond shares highlights from nearly twenty years of excavations around Huguenot Street. His research reveals diet, habitation and even long distance trade among Native Americans stretching back to 7000 B.C.E. and continuing right up to the arrival of European immigrants.

This presentation is free and light refreshments will be served. It will be immediately followed by the business meeting of the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail Association.
