The Dorsky Museum at SUNY New Paltz will be exhibiting works by six contemporary African artists. While regarded as working in “abstraction,” the idea is at the heart of original art, whether African or otherwise. Come get a sense of how these remarkable artists utilize rich decorative patterns to explore universal abstract themes informed by their African roots. Participating artists include:
Osi Audu, Nicholas Hlobo, Serge Alain Nitegeka, Odili Donald Odita, Nnenna Okore and Elias Sime.
